A Spanish press report blew up a heavy-caliber surprise, when Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola refused to sign the Brazilian Neymar, the Paris Saint-Germain star, in the last hours before the end of the summer Mercato.
And the Spanish newspaper “Marca” said: “Paris Saint-Germain offered Manchester City to sign Neymar, but Guardiola refused the offer and did not want to include the Brazilian star.”
And the newspaper added: “Despite Neymar’s good start to the season, and his confirmation to stay in Paris, the French club had no hesitation about his offer to City.”
And she continued, “The relationship between Neymar and Mbappe, especially after the renewal of the latter’s contract, was the motive behind the Paris administration’s decision to offer Neymar to City, to avoid problems in the dressing room.”
The report indicated that City, despite knowing Neymar’s quality, had no intention of concluding the deal, given the presence of a distinguished striker like Halland, in addition to the potential effects on the dressing room if the Brazilian was included.
