Press reports revealed that Brazilian Real Madrid midfielder Carlos Casemiro has agreed to join the Manchester United team, during the current summer transfer market.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Manchester United reached a final agreement with his counterpart Real Madrid, in order to obtain Casemiro’s services, during the current summer Mercato, in a deal worth 70 million euros.
The newspaper added that the management of the Royal Club gave the Brazilian player the green light to travel to England, to undergo medical examinations on Friday, before completing the transaction procedures.
The newspaper pointed out that Man United is working to finalize the Casemiro transfer deal and they hope to announce the deal within the next few days.
The 30-year-old player played in the Real Madrid shirt 336 games in all competitions, scored 31 goals and provided 29 assists, and won a large number of tournaments, most notably the European Champions League title 5 times.
In another context, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is seeking to acquire a stake in Manchester United, in light of press reports that the Glazer family is ready to sell a share of the club’s shares, looking for full control later.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a British billionaire, has been one of the parties interested in buying Chelsea this year and has previously distanced himself from buying Manchester United.
“If the club is up for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer,” he told The Times.
“If something like this were possible, we would be interested in speaking from a long-term ownership perspective,” he added.
He concluded: “This is not about money that has been spent or not spent, Jim is looking at what can be done now and knowing how important the club is to the city, it seems like a good time to reset.”
