Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti sent a clear message to Alvaro Odriozola, after he was excluded from the Real Madrid squad that defeated Eintracht Frankfurt in the European Super Cup final in Helsinki, Finland.
The European Football Association’s decision stipulates that two players are excluded from the list so that all team members do not sit on the bench.
Ancelotti decided to exclude Alvaro Odriozola and Luis Lopez, the third goalkeeper in the team.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, Odriozola’s exclusion is a message from Ancelotti to the player that he will not be relied upon in the new season.
Undoubtedly, Odriozola will seek another team before August 31, the end of the summer transfer period in Spain.
Italian reports had indicated a few days ago that Inter Milan was interested in Odriozola’s services, in anticipation of the departure of his Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries to the Premier League.
